Waypoint ("we," "us") provides free educational information about Medicare and Social Security timing. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

For your free key dates, we collect your birth month and year (and your spouse's, if you add them, or the fact that you are widowed, if you tick that), plus your email address if you ask us to email the dates. When you buy a custom report, we collect the questionnaire answers you provide: birth month and year, whether you are single, married or widowed, your spouse's birth month and year if married, work status, employer coverage status, doctor preferences, prescriptions you list, income bracket, your stated priority, and, if you choose to give them, the monthly Social Security estimates from your statement (and, if you are widowed, your late spouse's monthly amount). If you leave your name and email, we collect those too.

How we use it

Your answers are used to work out your dates and numbers and to write your personalized educational report. We share information only with the service providers that help us run Waypoint, such as hosting, payment processing, email delivery (Resend, which sends your report link and key dates), and the AI service that writes your report, and we do not sell your data to data brokers or advertisers.

Each custom report is saved so you can reopen it from the link we give you and email to you. The link is long and random, so only someone who has it can open the report.

How we make money

Your key dates are free. We make money when you choose to buy a paid custom report or a one-on-one call. We do not sell insurance, we do not earn commissions from any plan or carrier, and we do not take referral fees.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Ads, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand which content and ads bring visitors to the site and whether they find it useful. This may involve cookies or similar technology that Google uses to measure ad performance. We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site, through heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, taps and scrolling, so we can make the site easier to use. Clarity uses cookies. The parts of the site where you type your answers, and your dates and report, are masked, so their text is not recorded. We do not use this data to identify you individually, and it is separate from the personal answers you give in the questionnaire.

Payments

If you buy a report or a call, you pay on a secure checkout page run by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's page, not on ours, and we never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us that a payment succeeded and gives us your email address, what you bought, the amount, and a payment reference, which we keep as a purchase record so we can deliver what you bought and answer questions about it. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

Data retention

We keep questionnaire responses, saved reports, contact information, and purchase records only as long as needed to provide your report and anything you buy, and so you can come back to your report. You can request deletion of your data, including your saved report, at any time by emailing us.

Your choices

You can see your free key dates without giving an email address. The Social Security estimates in the questionnaire are optional: without them your report shows dates and percentages instead of dollar amounts.
